Not everyone wants to get involved in the same way. On this page we might present different options to encourage others to
get involved in our cause.

OUR SENATORIAL CAMPAIGN TARGETS:
Our first target is Senate President Franklin Drilon. His

Our Current Campaign:Investigate Senator "Ping" Lacson
My fellow FCRS & Paltalkers,
It's time once again to arise from our hibernation, as another national crisis
looms before us.
Once again, our senators (most of them, anyway) have shown the weakness of the senate as an
institution - prefering to protect one of its own rather than purging its ranks to preserve its dignity.
Faced
with a grave accusation of criminal activities against Senator Ping Lacson from no less than the chief of AFP intelligence,
the senators chose to grill the accuser as if he was the accused, questioning his methods and source of authority, focusing
on his mistakes rather than searching for the truth. Others, like Sen. Legarda and Sen. de Castro, chose to pick a fight with
one witness - Ador Mawanay, whose biggest mistake was to accuse the good senators of involvement in smuggling and payola.
For this, he is now incarcerated in the senate detention cell. Whether his accusation had basis or not, this was not
the forum to tackle it.
Let us remind our good senators of the core issue at hand. This is not an investigation
against Corpus, Ador Mawanay, Sen. Legarda, or Sen. Noli de Castro. This is an investigation of the alleged involvement of
Sen. Lacson in money laundering, drug trafficking, kidnapping, and summary execution. These are serious charges. Let's
ask them to stick to this and seek not just provable evidence as the court requires, but more importantly for the truth. And
let them clear the name of Senator Lacson or endorse his case to the criminal justice system as the facts are presented.
But let us hear out what Col. Corpus and his witnesses have to say. That is the least they can do for our nation.
In the coming days, we will reactivate our email machinery, launching an email campaign directed at one senator at
a time. Similar to our email campaign during the impeachment trial, I will be sending you one email a day with a suggested
message to our target senator for the day. You may format your own message based on the suggested template.
First things first.... let's get this campaign off the ground in the coming days.
God bless and God
save our country.

STAND UP AND BE COUNTED!
Result of this survey will be gathered and send to both opposing parties in the Philippines Hall of Congress.
Write a Letter or Sign a Petition
Here we might list the names of people to write to or suggest signing an online petition.
My fellow FCRS-PalTalkers, Filipinos & Friends,
As expected, we filled up the mailbox of Senate President Franklin
Drilon very early in our campaign #1. So for those of you whose email bounced, don't be disheartened... it only means
that there were more than enough of us who participated and we succeeded in bringing the message to him.
But
there is one important lesson there which is that we should also use the other means of communications, such as fax or snail
mail. I suspect that most of our senators read their fax messages more than their email. The key to our effectiveness and
impact is a critical mass of messages reaching our target through all possible means.
Today we continue with our
campaign. And I must reiterate our purpose: to convince the Senate to investigate the serious charges against one of their
own members - Ping Lacson, and that they should not be distracted by peripheral issues and personal interests.
Aside
from sending a message to the target senator, may I also request you to forward this message to your friends, colleagues,
and relatives and invite them to join in this campaign.
Below is the suggested message for our target for the day.
Again, I strongly urge you to personalize the subject title and the content.
Our next target is Senate Minority
Leader Aguilino Pimentel.
His email address: aqp@compass.com.ph (aqp @ compass.com.ph)
His fax number:
552-6713
His Office Address: 5/F GSIS Bldg. Financial Center Roxas Blvd, Pasay City
His
Residential Address: 5 Monterey St. Fairlane Subdivision Concepcion Marikina City 1800
Below is a suggested message. While you can cut-and-paste this to your own email message, I strongly suggest that you personalize
the message and express your own personal sentiments.
SUBJECT: BE OUR HERO ONCE AGAIN
MESSAGE:
Dear Senator Pimentel,
I am (an ordinary office
worker / a __________ by profession / a Filipino working in ____________ / a student / any personal identifier),
state your age. I am a member of eLadga, and I join thousands of FIlipinos from all over the world in writing you to
express my grave concern about how the senate is handling the investigation of Senator Ping Lacson on alleged charges
of criminal activities which include money laundering, kidnapping, drug trafficking, and summary execution.
I have always known you as a fearless advocate of human rights and someone who will stand for your convictions no matter
what the cost. Under martial law, you stood your ground even at the cost of personal liberty. Then, you fought a lonely
and uphill battle in exposing the dagdag-bawas scheme of a fellow senator. But to me, your most heroic moment was when
you broke ranks with your partymates at the most momentous point of the impeachment trial which ultimately led to
EDSA 2.
But now, you begin to confuse me with some of your positions on recent political issues. I was disappointed
when you advocated for leniency in the case against Erap. And more recently, I was saddened by the manner by which you
berated Col. Corpus and witness Ador Mawanay. Granted that you find their testimonies unbelievable and their methods
questionable, aren't you at least interested to find out what they have to say in the interest of ferreting the truth?
It seems to me that after only a day of hearing, you and your colleagues in the Senate have resorted to the
same grandstanding and obstructive line of questioning that alienated many of our countrymen during the impeachment trial.
The integrity of the senate as an institution is once again being put to shame by such blatant display of arrogance and
impertinence.
You did mention in one interview that the present hearing is about the mistaken identity of Kim Wong
and not on the charges against Lacson based on a resolution filed by Senator Barbers. Well, maybe it's time to drop
these peripheral issues and focus on the core issue -- which is the investigation of the charges against Ping Lacson.
These are serious charges and I, like many other Filipinos, would like to know the truth.
If, in the course
of the investigation, you find that the allegations have in fact no basis, then by all means - clear Senator Lacson's
name. But should you, on the other hand, find merit in Col. Corpus' charges, we expect you to apply the appropriate administrative
action and endorse the case to the criminal courts.
But you can only bring this issue to a credible conclusion
if your colleagues will hear out what Col. Corpus and his witnesses have to say and evaluate the evidence that they will
present. Instead of discrediting Corpus, questioning his authority, methods, and motives, and trivializing his allegations,
please investigate the principal object of this exercise -Senator Ping Lacson.
I appeal to you to rise above
party lines and initiate the full investigation of Sen. Lacson. As minority leader, you can lead your colleagues
in the opposition in restoring the dignity of the senate as an institution. Please remind them of the impact of this
investigation to the nation, and that all should aspire to conclude this as expeditiously and as transparently as possible.
Let's not wait for EDSA 4 to happen. Lead the senate in concluding this investigation soonest. For the sake
of our country, be our hero once again!
